What We Believe
Unite Night is rooted in historic Christian belief, centered on Jesus Christ, shaped by Scripture, and carried by the local church. These statements help define the truth we stand on as we serve the Central Valley.
These beliefs are not just background theology for us. They shape the way we worship, teach, serve, and make room for people to encounter Jesus.
We affirm that the Scriptures, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, are God's complete and trustworthy revelation to humanity. They were given by divine inspiration, are without error in their original form, and serve as the final standard for faith, truth, and daily living.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21
We believe in one eternal God who exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are distinct, yet fully united in essence, each possessing all the attributes of God and worthy of equal honor and worship.
Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who took on human nature. He was born of a virgin, lived without sin, gave His life for our sins through His death on the cross, rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will return again in power and glory to reign.
Matthew 1:23; John 1:1,14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 4:15
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and actively works in the world to bring conviction of sin and new life through regeneration. He dwells within every believer, unites them with Christ, and continually guides, teaches, and empowers them to live in obedience to God.
John 3:5; John 14:16-17; Romans 8:14; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:30
We believe that human beings were created by God in His image. Through disobedience, sin entered the world, affecting all people. As a result, every person is spiritually lost and incapable of restoring themselves to God apart from His grace.
Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3
We believe salvation is entirely a work of God's grace. It is received through faith in Jesus Christ alone, who accomplished redemption through His death and resurrection. Those who trust in Him are forgiven, made new, and given eternal life that is secure in Him.
John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5
We believe that those who belong to Christ will live forever with Him, entering His presence at death and ultimately being raised to new life when He returns. Those who reject Him will face final judgment and eternal separation from God.
John 5:24; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Revelation 20:11-15
We believe God created spiritual beings, including angels. Satan, a fallen being, opposes God and His purposes, yet remains subject to God's authority. Through Christ's victory on the cross, his defeat is certain, and his final judgment is assured.
John 12:31; Ephesians 6:12; Revelation 20:10
We believe the Church is made up of all who trust in Jesus Christ and is expressed through local gatherings of believers. These communities exist for worship, teaching, fellowship, prayer, and living out the commands of Christ, including baptism and the Lord's Supper.
Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Matthew 28:19-20
We believe every follower of Jesus is called to share the message of the Gospel and make disciples of all people. This mission is carried out through the power of the Holy Spirit and through both personal witness and collective effort.
Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13-15
We believe that God created humanity as male and female and designed marriage as a covenant relationship between one man and one woman. This relationship reflects Christ's love for His people and is intended to be lifelong.
We believe that sexual expression is a gift from God meant to be experienced only within this covenant, and that any expression outside of this design is not in alignment with His will.
